“I cook because food was the first language of care I ever understood. In my house, no one said much about love. It arrived as hot rotis, second servings, and the question Have you eaten? long before anyone asked how you were feeling. Over time I realized that cooking is one of the few acts that asks for both discipline and tenderness. It feeds hunger, yes, but sometimes it also restores people to themselves. I do this because a good meal can steady a hard day, soften silence, and make strangers feel briefly at home.”
